The Soil Expedition Co. is a California-based purveyor of naturally produced products, mostly wine, made by european friends and their vital land.
As a company, we believe that 'quality' in wine is innately linked to the 'livingness' of the soil and environment it's grown in. That wine is food, nourishing, and should be made and consumed from the soul. Ultimately we seek wines that make us, and hopefully others, smile and these are the wines we support and share.
Our selection of wines are from France, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland & Austria. The men and women who grow and produce our wines come from many different backgrounds. Some making wines for decades, others for a few vintages. All of which produce wines with soul, some humility and a sense of where they are from.
We together share a common, collective philosophy: vines farmed sustainably (organic or biodynamic), wines made with no additives beyond zero-to-low, purposeful use of sulfur dioxide and with minimal intervention in the cellar.
Our mission is to simply share their stories and wines with those who may enjoy them.
The Soil Expedition Co. is owned and operated by Brett Pallesen. You may find our wines in restaurants, bars and wine retail locations throughout California and New York.
